George G. Hoyle
George Hoyle, originally from Winston-Salem, is a Founding and Managing Partner of Compass Financial Partners, LLC. George is a 25 year veteran of the financial services industry. He specializes in the areas of retirement/401(k) plan consulting, as well as executive benefits planning, including investments and insurance. George is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) through the College for Financial Planning, and has received the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, in association with the Center for Executive Education, Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), and was named to 401kwire.com’s 2010 listing of the “300 Most Influential Advisors in Defined Contribution”*. In further recognition of his leadership within the retirement plan consulting community, George has served on the BlackRock Defined Contribution Leaders Circle and the Goldman Sachs Asset Manager Advisory Council.
Mr. Hoyle received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was a member of the 1987 UNCG Men's Soccer National Championship team, has established an Endowed Scholarship awarded to a Men's soccer player at UNCG, was inducted into the UNCG Athletics Hall of Fame and was recently named to the Board of the UNCG Excellence Foundation. An active member of the community, he is a Past President of the UNCG Spartan Club Executive Committee, served as Board Chair for the Carolinas Chapter of Operation Smile, serves on the Board of Directors for the Greensboro Police Foundation, is a member of the Greensboro Sports Council, and was named as one of the 2007 Triad Business Journal’s “40 Leaders Under Forty” (based on success in field coupled w/civic & philanthropic efforts). In addition, Mr. Hoyle was awarded the “2007 UNCG Young Alumni of the Year Award” and was inducted into the Bishop McGuinness High School Athletic Hall of Fame. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, running and spending time with family.
